He posted it on Instagram today. Aluminum, Swiss motor ( assume Maxon ) and uses the triangles like the ego.

I want one for sure. I haven't tried an Ego and only have hesitated because the plastic body. This definitely looks like progress to me.

This one is Aluminum. The old Ego was plastic.

I've actually not had any problems with the Ego's frame and really liked it, but I am definitely looking forward to this new machine.

I think I'm gonna have to give this a try when it's out... Looks real good and I'm hoping it'll feel that bit more substantial in the hand compared to the Ego.. I really think the 'power triangle' give method is a potential winner..

I saw best yesterday at the tattoo jam and he says there are 3 versions of this, says it's the most powerful rotary made to date, pretty sure he called one an iron man version, wouldn't tell me a price but about 6 weeks for a release date and says they are being tested at the moment. And The ego has one more batch to produce with a different motor.

cagelavey
10-13-2013, 12:34 PM
oh if he has an iron man build, im on that shit, im a straight comic book junky! if its strong like he says and it excepts carts, ill be ecstatic! I now have my halo, vivace, gen 8, I want this, the flite v2, and a thunder. then ill have a collection I can set back and loose my load over, lol. im sure ill grab a mini cranker among others, but the first machines I mentioned are my dream collection.

10-13-2013, 01:36 PM
Well I passed on the original ego because it was weak plastic. Had a poor vice. And had no adjustable stroke.
Any good machine these days should have the adjustable stroke. That being said I will pass on the new ego if it is just one stroke
And stick to my halos. It looks cool but when it comes to rotary its all about the adjustable stroke and hit.
Great eye candy though. Hope Bez made an adjustable stoke.

jasonadelinia
10-13-2013, 04:00 PM
Crabink, that's quite a bad generalisation. You can't say a spirit or thunder doesn't tattoo great? They are unadjustable, Also IMO the ego vice is actually the best vice I've used! The plastic was definitely not weak. It grips stainless and plastic amazingly well with no movement. My aluminium vices tend to not grip as well. Especially stainless grips tend to slip on occasions with other vices. It's a real shame if that put you off because the Ego is a great machine.

crabink
10-14-2013, 12:51 AM
The ability to change the stroke on the spirit or thunder would make the hawk machines even better. 3.6 to 3.2 to 2.5 is a huge difference.
Halos are still king. An aluminum ego with a better vice sounds good.. but I like versatility.
Halo is any stroke and any hit force I want. Gaston hit the ball outthefukinpark with the halos.

I hope they still keep making the ego but with the better motor -at a great price. nice machine.

My guess would be a horizontal, direct drive, power triangle type deal. I don't think it has a vertical motor. Notice how the top end is fatter. Just a guess though.

it also says the new ego range, its close??? is there going to be an upgraded ego also? looks like ego has listened to the consumer and is doing big things with the big boys like, fki, thunder, bishop, etc... I love where this industry is going with machine builds. with the futuristic look of the overkill, and the spektra edge, I feel like tattoo machines have pulled into the forefront of the 21st century, and im a 21st century digital boy, lol.

Yeah it seems as though he has a few machines coming out. He said about a cartridge specific machine and judging by his post on IG I'm guessing its a pen system similar to the stylus, at least I hope so anyway! Very exciting though, and be great I this was a swash!

Looks like bez is pushing to the forefront with some new builds! It's cool to be cause the machines I see from him even the ego is uniquely original in design. He definitely brings something new to the rotary game.

darkness
10-19-2013, 06:37 PM
the price think is similar to a dragonfly or stigma machines ...around 450 GBP that i hear - not cheap but in a normal range for a class machine

jasonadelinia
10-19-2013, 10:10 PM
£450 Gbp is ridiculous! I loved the ego because it was a great price and was such a great machine for the price. I struggle with £400 for an fki coil which is a workhorse let lone a rotary. I think prices now are just getting ridiculous! I know its tools of the trade, but even a workhorse of similar coil is way cheaper... Only my opinion but I think £400gbp is even really pushing it for a great machine. When will price of machines stop going up?

hey nivek, it did sell, to me. haha.thats why the seller ended the auction. i had bought an orange one from him that he posted n although i don't like pink, the price was too good to pass up. so i bought it to trade on the forum but i didn't get any offers that i was hoping for. so i kept it n now i use it almost every day. i have 3 egos now n i truly love them. i will never understand how ppl talk such shit about the machine. i use kingpin disposables with the egos n i have no problem with the vice at all. if n e thing, on one machine, i have to put my thumb on the screw n tighten the vice which is in no way a burden to me. I'm looking forward to all of the new machines from bed, i just hope he keeps the price point in an area that ego owners are used to.

On the V1 all you had to do is change the screw out on the vise with an Allen screw. There is a thread on this forum about it.

adjustable stroke give?

darkness
06-08-2014, 04:39 AM
yes over the rubbers you can change the stroke and give ..its like the springs on coils and for the coils you get a DCX Maxon motor :) ..with the black/black rubbers its hits pretty hart and fast with no vibration and spluttering ,for smale needles i use blue/black to get a bit give in the hit - and i use it for the detailwork and smal areas ,for the bubblegum areas i always use the sidewinders but have not try the apex

peezie
06-08-2014, 04:52 AM
Custom maxon dcx configurations can go well above 200$ easy. Explains the high price tag.

darkness
06-08-2014, 04:59 AM
yes ,but the other is the cost in europe is always much more .... the CNC Body is from the factory much higher as from a american factory ,we have a lot of taxes on all. Because this the Dragonfly or stingray - all machines from europa are expensiver and we have to pay 19 to 22 % extra vat on all what we buy :(

I have notice a Maxon motor is in the USA cheaper as in Europe :X
