This is my first large scale portrait. I'm proud to say it was Kurt Cobain and 4 days from now is his 20th death anniversary. Done with FK Irons, Spektra Halos and Waverly Bluebird. It's on this girl's side of her leg...and it's her first tattoo! She sat like a champ.

Do you plan to do more with the hair?

This is for the people who don't understand how tattoos wrap. The hair is on purpose.

I don't really do portraits - so take that for what its worth. I like the mix of darks and light, I see many pieces that lack contrast, as you commented

I like most of it, I see what you are going for with the hair, but think just a wee little more in it would make it look less "unfinished". The blank skin creates a large amount of contrast.

All that being said, if you are gonna post - I think you kind of have to take the good and the bad. Everyone on here has an opinion and that is not a wrong/right thing.
You can take that for what its worth, or ignore it. No point in getting into a pissing contest online.

Man...Crab, your opinion on what looks best is really important to me. Thanks man. I don't know what I'd do without your input on this forum.

There is no need for a dick swinging contest here, chill out. You post things online good or bad its bound to generate comments. Don't like it? Ignore it.

I like the hair a lot, I actually did a portrait on myself like that. But I see what everyone else is talking about though. I think if it was faded out some more to look more like a out of focus blur it would have some more congruency but still a crazy stellar portrait

I don't care, I like the way you did the hair. So much detail in this piece. The only thing that throws it off for me is it looks like the eyes are shifted slightly to the left, but that could be the angle you took the pic I guess. Overall job well done sir.

Thanks guys, it's actually from the way she was sitting, it twisted the whole tattoo off somehow. I don't know how to get a perfectly lit picture of her standing up but I'll try next time she stops by for healed pictures.
