Hello, I'm currently debating between picking up one of these because I'm using cartridges more and more. Both systems seem pretty versatile, I was wondering if anyone that has used them might be able to give me some idea of how the Direkt and Flite stack up against each other?

Thanks,

Ryan

The flite is my usual machine, but the direkt is my other go to machine (and only other at the moment).they both work very well.the flite has less vibration and is a tad lighter. I think the direkt lines with big groups a little easier.both are great machines.one thing is Witt the flite you have to clip the loop off of drive bars.not a bid deal bit something to consider.another thing is you can use traditional needle setup. Hope this helps.they are very very close though.i would like to try a hawk but can't bring myself to pay that kind of money for grips (ya ya I know they have the ego disp).especially when the flite or direkt has the different options for stroke length, grips, and hit (flite flex drive bars).just fyi.i really use rigid bars for the flite mostly....ramble ramble

... the flex bar is from inkjecta and the litlle plastic is inside part from t-tech cartridge , it took me not even 15 minutes put it together , it's just experiment but its working, i think it would be great if some of the builders start manufacturing flex bar with the loop...

yeah they would add a whole new element to machines like the direkt or any number of other dd machines

... and the loop I just cut needle bar, cartridge grip is also from inkjecta, bought it from tatsoul and its cheap, because the flex bar does not fit in other grips I have

here is another one I made during lunchbreak, black plastic is inside part of cheyene cartridge , white from t-tech cartridge and spring from mechanical pencil, this one fit all my cartridge grips and its really feels like working with coil machine .... 26298

Just about to get a Direkt (hopefully should arrive today)..
I chose the Direkt over the Flite mainly because it gives the possibility to run trad needle tube set up.. I like dd too, so the give bars didn't really hold much appeal.
Also I've used a Halo for the last year and a half without any problem whatsoever, so I know firsthand, the standard of an FKI machine and service.
I'll let you know what I think about the Direkt in the next few days>>

does tony lynx also make rotaries? or did in the past? just curious. id just love to see the direkt plunger bar that gaston has made start to be released. I know its not a flex bar but that thing looks awesome how it takes the side to side out of a dd machine, I wonder when those are going to start to be produced?

Thanks everyone for the opinions. I think I'm leaning more towards the Direkt. I won't have an issue with disposable tubes with it an it's an American manufacturer and company, and Gaston had always been good in the service department.
