It's a real thunder 100%. I received is an empty shell. It has a new Faulhaber motor ( not the exact model but a good stand in until I get the right one ) and the hub/cam from and Inkjecta Flite. I modded the straight bar to fit for the initial testing but will soon be modding the give bar, because why not? Currently it has a 6v motor and is a little louder than a stock thunder but seems as strong at 4.5v as a standard thunder does at 10v. Can't wait to fit the give bar in and test that but I imagine it will be a beast.

Faulhaber 1724 is the original I believe although I could make due with a Maxon of some sort or portescap. currently I have a Faulhaber 1717 and its gutsy but I don't think it will last long for what I am asking of it.

Yeah I will have to do something. That 1717 can push T-Techs but it can't push Cheyenne carts.

My Thunder broke twice, so far Loctite has been my saving grace. How did you get the cap on the front to come off, I tried like hell and only ended up chipping my paint.

To be fair I have taken the front off a few with very little issue. Often I hear it helps if you heat them up a little bit. My suggestion would be seal it in plastic ( like a zip lock bag ) and submerge it in hot near biking water for a minute or two then try and remove it.

Look on eBay.de for cheyenne motor. There is someone selling a portescap that they say is good replacement for the thunder at 49€. A friend is sending me a portescap for mine as well so I am hoping it works well.

Cannot seem to find it :D i may be doing something wrong with the search... i tryed both "Cheyenne Motor" and "Portescap"... in this God forgotten country not even a maxon on that size i cannot find... there is one on a site but it has a gear instead of the shaft, and i dont think its powerfull enough !!! I've got a motor tho that works dimensionwise... but i will see how it is powerwise :D

Well is there any way i could remove the cam from the old Motor ? Or thats stuck there for good ?

If you are brave you can hear it up with a heat gun or hairdryer and when it's hot pull it off with pliers. It's press fit with a bit of glue. I can't guarantee that will work but that is the way as I understand it.

Well the motor is broken anyway ... so theres no need to be brave... Im gonna have to give it a try then ... if its glued than that wont be imposible !
