I am curious if anyone previously used no give rotaries like kubins or bishops and switched to using the spektra edge (no give version).
I am going to purchase an edge today and I am not sure if I need the give version since all I run is the halo turned tight and the direkt everyday.

For all of you that have the X could you do without the give and still rock with the edge nonetheless? Or are you using the give alot?

If you never needed give before do you need it now? It might be one of those things where its fun in the beginning and then suddenly you are tightening things down again. I guess the question is spend an extra $50 or not. No give might make the machine less likely to want to be borrowed by colleagues if they are afraid of machines with no give.

I use the Hawks, as well as the EdgeX. I could do without the give....but I don't think my clients want to bahahahaha

Spend the extra on the give. Better to have it and not use it then to need it and not have it... and its only 50 extra.

I have the Direkt and EdgeX and I use them both for their specific differences. Lining and black and gray is easier for me with a slight give and have given me better results than just the Direkt alone

i agree with what inkinwi says. it's only $50 so why take the chance on not getting what you ultimately want.
i'll give my own personal review of the Edge X.
Let me be clear this is only my opinion ..It does everything the Thunder does, but with a bit more noise.. not much more. The give adjustment doesn't go Super soft, but it works fine. I've found the best Disposable tubes to use are the RPG and the Welker from Eternal site. You can use the new Truetube grips also.

I have the one with Give, but personally I've gotten so used to my hawk thunder and my spektra direct that I really don't know if the give has really seemed to make a difference for me, but that's just my 2 cents. If you want options though, I would say that paying the $50 now is far better than regretting that you didn't get the version with Give and still wanting to try one.

I Love my Edge x and the give really helps with lining, but I find it so hard to turn the give knob.
It's impossible with bare hands and very difficult with gloves, the only way I can do it is to grip it with a paper towel and then i can't tell how much I'm turning it. Any Advice Gaston?

It is designed to be done with ease, so my guess is that you may have cross threaded the knob. easy to fix. Take off the knob, take one of the set screws that came in the box and insert the set screw with the allen tool that came with your machine. make sure you guide the screw properly and do not go in in one shot but instead by small increments while backing of, so it should be more like a zig zag motion where you screw a quarter and back off 1/8 of the run. Do not attempt to flush the screw with the slider because you only need to get in about 3mm.
If you feel like you are forcing the screw then it's time to remove the whole screw. Once you have done that put a drop of oil in the threading for the give knob and you should be good to go. Should you have any further questions contact us directly at [email protected]. Enjoy your EdgeX
