I have seen this machine before somewhere. I was going to place a bid on it for the fun of it but they wont ship outside the US. Anyway, it appears to be very light and clearly very patriotic.

Someone please buy this thing! It belongs in the Smithsonian! It is clearly the only tattoo machine for doing patriotic tattoos.

Why not ask them if they'll ship to Canada. It's not like its going to another continent.

Well i had to have it! i will only be able to do eagles and flags with it of course! here is the only pic i could find. If any body has any enfo that would be swell the seller was a lady that had it given to here around 10 years ago when she was being an apprentice-i guess she gave up and it was only was used some on her back tattoo. looks like a R/C moter maybe i will replace it with a new high end modified R/C car motor with brushes and brushless like this badboy! I wonder if that is some type of reduction gear on the front are just a means to mount it.

The brushless motors usually require a servo to power them properly so you may be wasting money on one of those. The gear reduction is common on motors used with model trains to ad torque and slow them down some. A model diesel train is meant to start slow and speed up some to make it appear real, they will also incorporate flywheels and other add ons. If you want to really have some fun try a RC helicopter motor with brushes. Have one on a machine that has been passed from artist to artist we nicknamed the widowmaker, noone has actually tattooed a person with it but a few have peeled some bananas at about 4 volts.

thanks for the enfo how do you think a Brushed RC Car motor would work-some do have a good power band of speed and torque right? altho it might be heavy huh!

The helicopter one is not heavy really but it is FAST and powerful (way too much power). I will track down the widow maker soon and take a video of it running, the sound alone reminded me of a dental drill. You may want to look more for model train motors, they usually have a good amount of toque and wont be stupid fast. Many of the model train shops will have precision brushed motors of all kinds. The main thing to make sure when you are picking one of these is that the axl is connected at both ends. Have played with some cheap motors that the brushes would hit the walls of the can wall and spark and smoke. Any kind of whip shading motion would make this happen. I have a machinist friend who is also a model train buff and he likes slow and powerful so when you up the volts the train looks like its accelerating in real life. He suggested the helicopter motor would probably be dangerous... he was right.

i will try that out.The motor on it might work perfect thoe i prob will use it for outline only as i don't use rounds much except for soft rendering
