5238 These are my tools of choice for now. Welker irons coil for heavyduty linework.
dragnflies for general lining and colorpacking. Swashdrives gen 6 and 7 set for shading and blending, and I usually have the stealth lite
ready for a backup.
God knows what the lineup will be next month. I didnt actually order the dragonflies with any stroke length but i think its more on the long side
as it measures aprox 3.5mm. Gen 6 has a stroke of 4.2mm !! if im measuring it correctly. The Welker is only 1.5

Cheers, all the best

If the DF's are unchanged, the red one is always a 2.5mm stroke. Any other color is a 3.5mm, nice!

thanks for the info, is there a specific way of measuring the stroke on a rotary machine

Stroke length is the difference between top dead center and bottom dead center of the armature. the easiest way to measure this is with a micrometer

what do you think of the SS dragonfly compared to the LS version? I've only had mine a day, but already think the SS model runs much smoother with less vibration and less noise at higher volts than the LS version.
Not done any packing with it yet. I know that's not really what it's designed for. but it's stroke is 0.1mm longer than the Hawk, so surely it wont be bad at it :)

5268did some serious packing with it the other day with clients own design, using 13curved mag 10v on a lab supply. top section was 1st session still healing.
took longer at 2hrs but very happy with the result.

Thinking of adding the purple neo tat long stroke to the collection, swapping it for the Welker coil

used welker irons liner coil with 7rliner loose. not happy with the welker, but wasnt too concerned as i was ironing the lining with the infill.

Try to redo those lines, For the round bit try to find something round, roughly same size as your shape (a cup, a vase) and press it on the skin to leave an imprint. Get a skin marker and trace that and then tattoo it. No matter how good your Packing colour is, if the lines are wonky it will affect the look of the entire tattoo.

Exactly, ya gotta keep control of the flow on those outlines...

I hate to be to abusive about it, but nothing is good about this piece. from the fact the lines are badly pulled, the tribal has no real flow to it. the large lower black point does not follow the flow of the top line it just goes fat, not a single curve is round. and is that a bed in the back ground?
