Chawk grip help

I recently got a china made hawk to try it out. The quality is junk but it does run well. I cant seem to back off my needles enough tho. Is there any trick to getting less needle hanging out ? My grip seems like its turning nothing when i turn it . the needle stays the same.

They may have left that feature out, guess you get what you pay for. It has been said on here before that the needles were crap too. How are the needles you got?

Found a fix.. I used an o ring that you put on your spring a bar on a coil mchine. I sliped it over the t tech and then the depth worked just like the real hawk.. now im happy. 100 bucks well spent! that being said anyone have a real hawk they wanna sell???
