Hiya Tugg mate, get yourself back to tesco and buy a reeves cartridge paper sketch book, about £3.50 oop north, it is a vast improvement over printer paper. you will notice the difference instantly bud, great sketch by the way!

for pencil portrait hair advice , id put down the values in the hair and blend them nice and smooth, then remove graphite with a kneeded eraser and an electric eraser. then adjust the values of those leaving some light tone and some highlight. i let my erasers do a ton of the work in hair.
heres a sample of some hair ive done with this method

1071610717107181071910720I hadnt touched a lead pencil in 30 yrs. Someone turned me onto Prisma Ebony's and I went crazy with them one week. Its the plain old printer paper that works the best for me. Seems to have more than enough tooth. I will try and post a couple of portraits I did that week.
