I've been using home made needle tensioners on all my machines including my RW and they work great

It's crazy how many uses that needlebars have besides a bong stem poker. I used one once to replace a broken throttle linkage on a Toyota truck...

The other thing I see is a crafty little return mechanism on the Cranker, color matched too ( Sage the innovator! ) ;).

The return spring worked well but I scrapped it as it wasn't really needed and I was(unnecessarily) worried it might make it not run as smooth...

I have twisted the bands so you can see them better, I usually only use one, but this usually works...98079808

My God I love those home made tensioners! what is the spool that the needle bar runs along?

I make the spools with two spaced bearings and they have a rubber 'tire' with a groove that the needle runs in. Due to popular demand, lol, I have them for sale now just look up my thread 'needlebar tensioners' or send me a PM
Thanks

C'mon, you not got a UK distributor yet, you are sleeping and your competitors are building. Shake a Leg whilst getting your Arse in Gear, and get them Bad Boys rolling out...Ain't no use teasing us....P:o

Thanks! This has stopped the rubber bands from breaking. I'm still gonna buy some of those fancy tensioners!

You could use needlerunners-the latest ones work great and are cleaner then bands.

Dale is big on recommending Needle Runners to go with his machines.
