Here's some background fill that I started last night on my buddy Malcolm with my new Santa Maria, beautiful machine btw... We only had about 2 hours so I need more time to finish the fill and add some softer greys... But the machine ran excellent and packed black nicely with a bit of pressure and did smooth fades even with waverly black... So far I am really happy with it! Used a Kubin cranker w/5L and 11ink, the Maria with a 11mag and waverly black...

Here's some of the other stuff I did on him over the years, keep in mind he's almost 70 so I have to be a bit gentle in packing color...

The flowers and the grey background are about 2 weeks old except for the blue one which is a couple years old...

It worked well, I wish I had had more time and yeah younger canvas but that's good to know it could pack and shade smooth on delicate older rib skin without much trauma, there was little blood or redness. The speed was perfect for me and the hit was very controllable, not too hard or soft, it was predictable and easy to use. I really like how it has a smooth cutback on the bottom and all the edges rounded, I didn't feel anything rubbing on my hand or getting in the way. It also has a nice weight to it as well but not too heavy.
