I had a lot of fun with this one. Took about 6 hours. Vivace 3.5 (9 bugpin mag), Infinite irons (5 reg round). Talen's broke down with a 50/50 witch hazel and Distilled water mix for the washes. Used 5 caps of: Solid black, 7 drop, 4 drop, 2 drop, and pure mixing solution (in #16 caps).

It's really nice indeed. Nice detail and looks just like old Frankie. My only gripe is the cutoff arc across the bottom, makes it hard to flow into with future work and lessens options considerably, it would be real hard to add the rest of his body later on, for example....

Wow, you nailed it. Love the depth and the lighting on the right side of the face, and I also agree with ^^^. But good shit man!

Really super nice! Soft shading, with good use of all values.

Thanks for the compliment and the insight.
I agree with the bottom part (especially now that I'm looking at it again). I was going to have some neg space/flow stuff following the cuff once we wrapped up the piece, but both he and I were getting tired. In retrospec, I would probably pull the black down into some wispy stuff following his thigh contour. Now I know for next time! :)

Thanks man.
Sorry, I wasn't as specific as I wanted to be with the wash. I used 5 caps in total and broke down the inks with a 50/50 witch hazel and distilled water mix. My caps were: Solid black, 7 drop, 4 drop, 2 drop, and pure WH mix for lightening in the tube.

I love using Witch Hazel to break down my inks. It really seems like it keeps the red down as you work allowing you to see what your gray will actually look like.

Thank you guys for the compliments! It means a lot coming from a group of artists that I personally respect.
