Depends on what you're wanting to use it for, but anything from Tattooed Pirate is badass, in my humble opinion.

Stigma Bizarre or Hyper. But once you get the feel for a no-give machine, such as a Neotat or the beloved DK mini cranker, you may find it hard to go back, as I did!

HM and Kubins are my favorites but there's lots I have yet to try. Got a Hyper2 coming should be here soon to evaluate. Dragonflys and Pirates do the job as well...

I have a Dan kubin mini cranker but I wouldn't say that it has any give. I love it for the hard hit and the consistency of putting ink in the skin. Sage is there any other Kubin with give?

I have never had a centri so i cant vouch for that.. But they seem like a good choice.. I liked the hyper v2 alot... But i think the dragonfly definetly "gives" more the dragonfly is the softest i think... I personally have now moved to neotat and i think that is better than dragonfly or hyper but each to there own!... Depends what you want to do with it..

Dan can make you one with a bit more give on request, his old springer frames had adjustable give built into the frame assembly at the motor mount.http://img.tapatalk.com/4c163aaa-2b53-5f79.jpg

Ok, so is the whole motor moving? And that big cam is not going to give you a lot of movement in the tip of the needle? Just curious

Use what you like, if it's a hard hitter i.e Rotaryworks ,just use soft silicone tubing for your grommet and then your own common sense and ability.

Usually most of the reason that you use a rotary is because of the particular way it runs with no give, if you want a machine that has some give to it use a coil machine. The rotaries hit the skin with no give to be more effective and more efficient and while they are in the skin they are WORKING! And less dicking around. It's all based on feel and you can to a degree still feel what the needle is doing with a rotary. Where springs on a machine act more like a sensor for our hands telling our hands or fingers how much or what is being done when the needle is against the skin. You don't have that with a rotary but the way the vibration from tattooing with a rotary travels you can still get that feel. And it's a matter of just reading the skin while you are working. Idea is to get in and do as much work in as little time and as few passes over the skin as possible. joe capo and I talked about this at hell city last weekend and both agreed the same on all of the above
