"Bump"?

Hi, I'm still relatively new to this forum and I have a quick question. Not to sound too naive, but what is meant by the word "bump" in a thread? I've seen it a lot and haven't really caught on to what it means. Sorry if this is too trivial or in the wrong section of the forum. I'm kinda slow with the hipness sometimes.

it just puts your thread back to the top of new posts meant for the classified ads

On forums you will sometimes also see TTT this is To The Top. Same as a thread bump.
