The MR03 is nearly ready but I have a question about stroke, what stroke would be best and would an optional stroke be required.
I have designed the machine to have just one stoke but it would be possible to change the middle section for a shorter or longer stroke as required. You will be able to adjust the amount needle over hang like the Hawk but would you need to change the stoke.

I like a stroke somewhere between 3.5 - 4.2. Put in my vote for 3.8

And no I wouldn't need a second stroke length w/ a 3.8 , but it's hard to please everyone.

I second the 3.8-4, though I feel the optimal all around best stroke length is 3.925714mm :)

3.8 sounds perfect to me as well. Another vote. Mick-

3.5 sounds good -as longer on those types seem to hit to hard/not as smooth and take a lot of power to run and to short is not enough punch for line or people that like to see their needle etc.

I want 1.2.

Make no other stroke lenghts.

Seriously, I just want to take this opportunity to say again that this is the kind of costumer service that show exactly what kind of great guy Ed is!
You make a machine and listen to what customer are looking for before you finalize it.

Keepin it real..!

What a fuck with stroke, is like the wine, many people think are very different but nobopdy understand, i can bet now that u give a 3.5 stroke to anybody on this forum and u say top him that is 5 mm stork, and nobody gonna feel the difference, when u wanna try im ready....

More stroke on rotary make more vibrations, bullshit any stroke more than 3.5 mm......

I know i'd know the difference between a 3.5mm and 5mm stroke machine. I have an adjustable direct drive machine and at it's longest stroke (5mm) i find it very difficult to tattoo with smoothly but when i adjust it to around 3.5mm stroke i find it tattoos much better. I can see how someone wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 3.2mm and say 3.8mm stroke with just the naked eye and feel. But a 1.5mm difference is a lot.

3.5 for me, it does everything and has enough punch for Rhino skin ;)

3.8 would be so nice because you have the 3.5 abilities plus that little bit extra for lining. I'm super excited about the MR03

The length of the stroke might ultimately be dictated by the machine, the same stroke length on a different machine sometimes has a different feel. I think somewhere upward of of 3.5 would be ideal for an all-arounder though, and 3.8 sounds like an excellent starting point! Looking forward to the machine.

P.S. The Pussy Juice got me and my client through my single longest session ever - 11 hrs! About 10:25 hrs of actual tatooing. He only needed it for the last couple few hrs but it really got him through. Thanks again!
