Hiya guys, i've bought a Hawk Spirit today in red with a 25mm red grip. Any advice on voltages (i'll be running it off a Cx2), techniques, likes/dislikes? I've searched the forum but there isn't much concise info on the spirit. Any contributions are appreciated. :)

11 volts is where i stay most often. 12v for bigger liners

Try to lower the voltage around 7-8v and slow down a bit for shading, see if you like it. Also for detail I hang my needle out a lot and for smooth shading I pull the needles in and rest the tube on the skin.

I just got an orange one on Saturday. Got to do some color with it and was really impressed with the ease of saturation and weight of the machine. The manual says it runs from 6-12 volts. It seemed to stall with bigger groupings (27mag, I believe), unless I kept the voltage around 10.5v, minimum. Smaller groupings worked well around7-8v. I'm really excited to see what this machine can do. And, while I don't see it replacing all of my machines, it's versatility and ease of use would definitely make it a daily runner for me.

I'd love some input as far as tips, tricks and voltages for the hawk spirit, as well.

I find they pack and line well at high volts like around 11. But I find it easier to get smooth shading at lower volts. Around 8

Really impressed with this machine so far! Got to admit, i thought The Hawk was all hype. I've used it for shading and lining and it's amazing. So easy to use too. :)
