There are various available, the Old Timer, and Wayne Taylor, don't forget Nicks or Dan Kubin to name but a few, they all work pretty similar, you will need to decide what stroke, weight and budget you prefer..

I prefer the term 'moderately priced' ;)

Hmmmmmm, I prefer, "Financial outlay does not reflect the attributes, and possible "workscope" of this Machine".........But, Cheap also works as well..End of the day it is your Machine, so is cool with me.....LOL...18973

haha! not cheap but "a steal at this price"!
cheap just sounds poorly made which these are far from!

Hmmm I guess a longer stroke would be better for dotwork? And a heavier machine also sounds like a benefit for dotwork? So far the old timer sounds like the solution :-)

Has anyone tried to use a needle runner or some kind of needle tensioner with a dd yet?

This might be a little late but the HM DD has an adjustable stroke. Would give ya some options to see what works better for you. stroke wise atleast.
