finished this (my 9th oil painting)for the most part last night. 3 layers and at least 30+ hours in this one. its pretty big 18 inch by 24 inch. mock up was made in photoshop out of 3 different photos.

gonna prolly do another glazing layer to adjust some warms and cools but for the most part its done....was super hard! learned alot doing this one..im not quite getting the effect yet im after but getting close(even softer and a little bit more hazy...and more muted....skin tones keep coming out a little to chromatic for my taste)

. it has a beautiful gradation of dark to light warm grey in the background but it wont show up in the pictures :(

bro scanning down and seeing this, surprised me, and effected me on a purely emotional level. this is some of the nicest artwork I have seen on here in a while. your values are amazing! was it done from a live model? just wondering if there is someone out there this haunted and beautiful.

thanks guys! the face is from one model, the neck and chest is from another, and the horns are from an ibex goat i believe. 3 different photos combined in photoshop as a mock up then i did my own thing with it. the actual face model ive seen multiple pictures of her before not sure who she is but i can link the pictures.

heres the face model.

i wish i could take my own photos for my paintings but honestly i dont know many women with this calibur of "look" to them.

i changed her jawline a bit and when i painted the picture i did my own thing with the colors. i wish i woulda muted them even more its still a little to chromatic in my opinion but im still really happy with it!

you should post what you require of a model for your canvas on social networks, like craigslist, etc. you'll get a few im sure. youll have too weed through quite a few homlies, lol, but you may receive one or two viable candidates.
