Let me start out by saying this is for Information Purposes only, I had to “McGuiver” this "Machine", I just wanted to see what I could do with it....It is not a Review...I just had some spare time on my hands..

Ok, so I stripped down a very cheap Cosmetic Pen...Surprisingly the motor is pretty powerful, and doesn't overheat, so I sorted out some of the “build issues”, I also adapted the cartridge system, which is the cheapest version available...The carts are a few cents each, but, come spring loaded, and have a diaphragm, so no ink seepage...

The “speed” is controlled with an inline thumb wheel, it is a no give system, and tbh, this is a cosmetic pen, so you probs wouldn't notice if it had any give as the needle groupings are really tight...Light and comfortable to hold.

It runs pfg (perfectly fukn good) to be honest, I ran it with a 7-point needle, about a t3, and a 7-open, which is like a 3 mag..It is brutally hard hitting, but, for only a few bucks is fun to use....I wouldn't like to do a back piece, but, will could be uber-precise for really small detailed work...

It won’t replace any of my machines, but, as I said, these are very, very cheap.....and carts, are only a few cents, so, it might have some uses..I have thrown a few links up, the one in Red shows it running....Remember, this is for info only, any probs, Please PM me,Peace Y'all,P.

Yep, at 30 bucks, it might be worth it....I think it might be a "cog type" drive, but, it runs pretty smooth...I am going to try it with a conventional 5rl, cut to size, and inserted into the cart, similar to the "plunger" system...

The needle configs are very tight, but, it lines effortlessly...If I can rig up a conventional needle, I will run it out....I will probs strip this at some time, just to get into the guts of it....Who knows, If I can get a maxon/mabuchi motor same size, and linked to the drive mech, then get it to accept the Cheyenne type adjustable grip and cart system it could turn out to be a fun winter project...

What would be really great is
a cartridge "converter" so it takes both types of cartridges.

this one is quite unique as the grip and needle are one and one-would be pretty clean setup.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-II-Permanent-Makeup-Pen-Tattoo-Eyebrow-Lip-Machine-Gun-Power-Clip-Cord-/111037383600?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19da5803b0

The needles I have don't have a solder point, it is the size/width of the tube tip which "forms" the configuration...For instance a 7flat has 7 separate individual needles..

This trash talking is getting out of hand. I will remind everyone especially builders on here this site is free, free for all of you to use and to sell and promote your products. One thing I have asked is to not attack each other in public. You got beef, take it up in private! We are a very small crew of volunteers here and cant keep an eye on the place 24/7. that being said I will clean up this thread and if it starts again I will lock it and will put a the offending parties on a vacation.

If anyone wants to complain to me that this is censorship or they hate me, hate the site, hate what this site has become you are welcome to pm me your concerns. In the mean time before this gets further out of hand if you are not talking about what this thread was started about then move on.

To get back on track, I will endeavor to get this to work with a "conventional" cart set up....

Think some major parts need to be made or just someone with a hobby lathe can sort this out? I like where you are going with this mod.

Are you going to fashion some of the internal parts out of metal? Or just proof of concept the idea first?

skinmech

Tbh, fabricating some of the plastic parts out of metal would ensure longevity, but, I don't know if the extra weight could have vibration issues...It hits perfectly well, and I am a great believer in that if it ain't broke, then don't fix it...LOL....The plunger bar on the t-tech/cheyanne is slightly thicker than the one on the "cosmetic" carts supplied with it..The easy solution would be to swap the plunger over, but, I would prefer to adapt the fitting
which "drives" the cart..

Ok, funny to me that these machines are of interest. As I seek out "tattoo machines". Most of these PM machines are limited in needle options to the artist. Most use a 1.3.5.7 round and maybe a 5 or 9 mag, and a couple flat options.
The posts form Slickstee reference a Chinese replica of a Noveau Contour machine and another handpiece by Nov. called a Simplicity.
The needle cartridges are about $10-$15 each. The German made machines are anywhere form $1500-$4,000!!! Permanent Makeup artists pay a lot for the "price of beauty".
Here's the interesting part: MT. Derm who makes the Cheyenne Hawk, Spirit and Thunder$$, also makes the Noveau Contour permanent makeup machine $$$$$.
Both accept cartridges and are adjustable for needle length with a twist.. Speed is adjusted with power supply.($350 verses $3000)
I can use my Nov. Cont. handpiece in my Cheyenne power supply but not vice versa. And of course China makes the cartridges, machines etc. at a fraction but you do suffer some quality. (if you know what your looking for and scrutinize needles).

The red Chinese machine only takes up to a certtain size needles and has 3 parts to verses all in one cartridge. The needle depth selection on this red machine is a nice option for consistency on thicker, thinner skin.
Well, thats my .02cents.
