ego just stopped

So I was in the middle of a tattoo today and my ego just stopped. Its not the cord checked that. Any suggestions on what went wrong?

My coworkers ego broke the same way. Something internal came loose.

I have never had a problem with any of my Ego's

I didn't have my tools with me today I am going to take it apart tomorrow and see if anything came loose.
