I like it... I really dig the eye area.. maybe the head area could use some more of the darker redish tones that you used around the face area..but hey I'm no color portrait guy.

Looks like a real good start. I hate doing color portraits, I always feel like I go too light. I would try some more definition in the top of the head and ears. More black.
Nice one, the eye looks damn real from here.
