Wouldn't it be better to just lift the cap on private messages? I think it would be easier for the administration as well.
If you want to create a chat channel go for it, I am just not paying for it or adding it to here. I cant stand comet chat or flash chat contstant maintinence. Adding chat to a forum defeats the purpose of having a forum to archive information as people will just retreat into chat and new people sign up looking for a chat session. the vast majority of you found this site looking for info when you googled a question. This is how the others find this place as well.
The cap on PMs is there to keep the storage on the server to a minimum and our costs low. You need to clean it out once in a while is all. I did not cap the images you can upload and host as I thought that would be more important then chit chat.
No Chat for me...i dont use it on facebook either!....i like the good old PM system and if needed a exchange of phone numbers via PM for really deep chat!
