Dog portrait done with a #2 pencil on a piece of wood

I did this piece for my mom. Just a regular #2 pencil...nothing fancy. It's a crappy phone pic but you get the idea.

That's pretty sweet...I didn't know pencil on wood was even possible.

It isnt the best surface to use pencil on...but what I do is rub some of the graphite on a piece of paper then use that with a smug stick made of paper...makes blending much easier.
