Depends, I use either a hot press watercolour paper for flash images but I use layout paper for most custom designs. It easy to blend colours on and doesn't bleed.

One thing that I realized today. I got a few pieces back today that had been hanging in a bar for sale for about 3 years. They were done with prismacolor markers & there were fairly faded, I was very disappointed. I don't know how lightfast copics are, but if the have the same lightfastness as the prismacolor, they really aren't worth it. They weren't hanging in direct sunlight, but they definately looked like they had.
Prismacolors need to be sealed with a UV protectant finish..I have tried markers before but I can't see any advantage over watercolors, in fact there are several disadvantages..get some honey based watercolors from M Graham and have a lot more fun, a lot cheaper.
