A simple thing I always do with any machine I'm setting up. I place my grommet in the needle bar eyelet first,then I give the eyelet a nip up with pliers,then I try it on the armature nipple,if just right, into the tube it goes and then set up the machine.

It's a common sense method. Surely we've all noticed ,all armature nipples vary in thickness,and also needlebar eyelets vary aswell.Quote:

Like I said ,It was my only niggle with this machine and once your machine has eaten a couple of grommets you do 1 of 2 things, put your needles on real tight or put something on there to stop it sliding back if you like a bit of give.

but this machines, with the spring on top, gonna make the needles always stop OUTSIDE the tube....
So I don't know how much I can say that hasn't already been said here. But, I whole heartily agree. Dale's machines are great. I am sure some of that has to be the motor he uses. It has a lot of speed and power. I bought the aluminum one piece ( knuckle duster / brass knuckles ) machine from Zapp. I am almost certain that it performs exactly like the two piece machine. For the money it can't be beat. Almost as quiet as my Neo Tat, and runs fast. Slams color in. The best way I can describe it, is that it does exactly what you want it to do. This might have been the most relaxed I have ever been tattooing. I can't say enough good things about it.
I am glad you like it ! If someone said he dont like, i would not understand ! I dont have used the 6 v motor but i thing the 12 v is better especialy when you change the machine ! You dont have to play around with volts/up and down !

Dales machines are GREAT !! I have 2 knuckle duster (brass knuckles)
I also had the grommet problem. (the only problem) and the way around it is just use paper towel instead of grommet. 1" x 1" and fold it twice. Bam, problem solved.
Great machine. Lines like a beast. Color packing and grey wash ....beast !!
