Original Cheyenne
I have an original hawk with the ttech setup and have been tattooing wih it for the past 4 months. I have been thinkig about picking up another machine here and i am really intrestes in the newer thunder.
My question is, is the original a better machine than the newer thunder? would I have to switch up my regular power supply that I use now? I have the adapter cord with my original hawk. i hear the thunder is great for lining. I haven't had any problems lining with the original. The Cheyenne is just a pretty sweet machine and really want another lol.

you would have to use the start up cord or buy the newer power supply with the startup chip inside it.
-
what about motor? Is there much of a difference, asidefrom the stroke?
-
I have heard the new one has a faster and higher torque motor to push the longer stroke-i have the thunder and it is amazing.
-
that sounds nice. so have you tattooed with both? I just checked out your profile and it says you're from San Jose. my buddy is apprenticing at Death Before Dishonor

i been using the hawk for a while now, and just picked up a Bishop for the first time, and although it is a solid machine I definitely feel that the Cheyenne is more suited To my needs

Hey all,
I've been using the cheyenne equipment for about a year now, been using all three.
the hawk has a 2mm throw, the spirit has a 2.5mm throw and the thunder has a 4mm throw.
love using the first two for colour blending and black and grey. But the thunder is a fantastic tool, it does the lot including lining. To be honest I've been using the thunder for every tattoo I've done for the last four months.
hope this helps (get a thunder :-))
