Great to have you! what motors have you been looking at to use so far?
Been lookin at some maxon's I ordered a few to get started,I'm sure I need to do alot more research.I'm hoping to find some good info in these pages!

Mabuchi makes a good motor as well

It's not just the motor.. It's exact relations between the motor characteristics ( Voltage , torque..), fly wheel design and weight and some other stuff.. Good rotary machine is not that simple as it seems.
I agree, There is alot to making any machine run correctly.
For sure guys,I do understand that.I have built quite a few coil machines and love experimenting,so I don't know what will come out of it but I'm going to give it a go.I'm sure i'll build a few good paper weights ti start with,but I'll be having fun with it.
i say do it i love the thrill of finding out that the next one will be better or that if i tweek that and this you get that excited feeling i feel it know typing this its like being a kid again well thats how i feel any ways do it ,,,,one thing use a hard rubber matirial so easy to cut and change .....good luck
