RCA NeoTat heating up!
I have a 3.5 NeoTat RCA and i got it in FEB 2012. I use it all the time as a coloring machine with 9-15 mag needles at about 9.5 volts. Ive noticed lately maybe a month or so that its gotten alot louder and its starting to heat up. I clean and lube it regualry, any help would be awesome. Its the original style and not the vivace.

Ive been having the same issue.
-
Call or email NEOTAT about it. It could be an issue with the fit of the glide.

I had the same problem with a Vivace so I spoke to Ray and he said the same thing about a tight slide so I stripped it down and cleaned it then put it back together but still the motor started to heat up after about 5mins use. I have sent the machine to Ray for him to have a look at it, I will post a thread when I get it back and let you know what happens.

sounds like a tight slide to me too i have vivaces and they run like butter call ray hell take care of it for u they have great customer service.
-
i had sent him an email on here a week or so ago with no luck yet. i will have to call him and or email him through his website and hope for a response that way.
-
Call its a simple fix.
Sending any of the builders pms on the site will not guarantee you get a speedy response since they are usually busy building and the normal workflow for most is interrupted when people place orders or take up warranty issues on here.

i called and they are gonna take care of me! they have great service i just hope for a speedy turn around. they said i could be a bad fit on the slide causing the trouble.

mine also heats up but seems to run fine
-
just got one couple days ago and notices mine gets hot as hell.
-
ive had mine about a year , no problems so far. love it!
-
Mine used to get hot running T-techs but a quick call to Ray and changing to super lube oil sorted that.
Might be worth a try if you are using cartridges.
-
Shoot ray an email. Some simple troubleshooting wi usually fix a hot machine.
sent from my oobnoxiosly large galaxy note phone thing via tapatalk.

i just put the superlube grease where the rotating metal disc thingy is . the rest(slide area etc) i use clipper oil or super lube oil and it runs super quiet and smooth. never had it get hot at all
