sounds strange are there any sharp edges on the extensions for the rubber bands? Or do you place them on the bottom of the machine?
dont wrap them around the machine. hook one rubber band across from the pegs on the side, i was having the same issue until i tried that, now no issue at all.
there just fine rubberbands i bought on magic moon supply... and i use the knobs on the sides to puth them on.. they last for 15min then
i think the rubber has gone bad?
Yeah, sounds like it's just old rubber bands to me.
i got it with all my rubberbands...
Maybe try lubricating the needle bar where the rubber bands sit. If they still break, you will know that it is something other than the friction caused by the needle bar & bands rubbing together. Maybe? Just a suggestion.
Strange.. U are the first to have this prb, look if the rubberband hits the tube from the grip..

make sure the "crankshaft" is not coming into contact with the bands as the machine runs, is the only logical reason in my opinion

Mine was breaking them as well then I did this and no more breaking.
Use the pwgs on the sides, and dont run the machine more than 6 volts, cuz it will destroy the rubberbands cuz the motor is very powerfull..i have gaved a one hor run to the machine, like all the machines i make and i didnt ad any prb, cheers nick

I am out for the week in italy but when i will get back i will make a video for u guys to show u how to run the machine without breaking the rubberbands..

tnx wonderland for the tip ill try it that way... only my tubes dont come that high.. ill try
at nick ok man cool i like the machine to much for not searching for sollution :)
I'd be tempted to go to a decent hardware shop and get some o-rings large enough to fit.
Post a photo of the way you are putting the rubberbands on? I'm curious I have 3 nicks machines and never even saw a rubberband look worn in any way while tattooing. I'm curious :)
biggboy has 5 and never had this prb , but as what i was saying .. i will make a video and photos .. on how to put them
You could go with needlerunners or get Sage to make you a needlebar tensioner. I think needlerunners work very well with all of my rotarys.
i looked today... mine haves a stroke from 4.5mm and its the wheel that spins the rubs against the rubberbands that makes them snap
i put them on like in the video...

I use Eikon bands, and I have never had a problem with them breaking on my Nicks, even after a 2 Hour session...and I have the same "hook-up" points as your machine....Sounds like your band is hitting the drive arm, keep the band close together, don't have the large gap, and position it slightly higher...
yes its hitting the drive arm..
what about those clear silicone things kingpin sells that goes down into the tube? needle runners?
Ok well I now own this machine, traded with onechance, and sure enough 5 mins into a tattoo and snap!
It's not possible to use the pegs on the side as the band rubs on the crank arm sides, I had to run a larger band right around the whole machine, right at the top near the loop which isn't the best.
I was using the thinner Eikon type bands that I use on all my machines.
It's a shame because as lots of people know its a demon machine - but I'll have to sort this issue before I can continue to use it.
I am gonna try spacers on the side pegs and filing the sides of the crank arm.
