I wouldnt have a clue with costs ? but its great just for chatting and askin quick questions ......... I know bluerocker would like it on hear :) .
There is all ready fee software-messenger,yahoo,etc.Or just use one of these types and it will connect to them all with out installing.

Shoutboxes are good and bad. Can't moderate them all the time. I will see if there are any good ones i can get installed on here.Quote:

I have used comet chat and flash chat in the past on other sites. They work like the pm system but don't archive anything. That and flash chat is full of bugs. My worries are security for one like if its full of holes that can compromise the security of the site. Beyond that if there is a heated dispute over a deal made over shout boxes it holds no archive so it turns into he said she said with no proof to back it up. I need to talk to our server guy to see what he might have in mind. We pay him to host the site and manage its security so if we can't find a good secure solution he will not let it on the network. After all the server is his we are not on a godaddy type shared box with about a million other sites on it.
