damn thats slick!
I could be wrong but I think Edison had made something similar to this
But this would be cool a DD that's "motor" never died
This was his "Edison"

I wonder how well it performs? The machine's a work of art to look at.

ive been trying to get my hands on one of these for a while now. awesome machine. I MUST HAVE! lol.
That's Edison's electric pen. Check this out. http://electricpen.org/
Nevertheless, great build by Clark.
John made some Edison models from the drawings a couple of years ago the modified then design slightly but he take it one step further with this machine I love it.
i recently purchased one of his magnetic drive rotaries- friggin awesom :)
I got to use my brand spanking new Clark mag today and it is a BEAST
i got one too sage, what voltage did you find worked well for you? did you adjust it at all? its way louder then i expected made my fk proton sound quiet almost, i haven't used it yet its so much different then any machine i have used i think ill have to tatoto myself with it before anyone else
I ran it @9 volts for some 9liner and then a 5 liner, both tatsoul bugpins. It laid really nice lines for sure. Definitely louder than expected(sounds like a coil) and weighs more(181grams!) but I can't complain about the performance. It's really adjustable, although the adjustment design leaves something to be desired, as it's not super user friendly on the fly. It does have a ton of versatility though as you can tune in any stroke length or power hit you want and both independent of the speed. It can run super slow like 50hz with a hard hit or 125hz and soft or vise versa or anything in between.
181 gram = 6.384 587 112 9 ounce
looks like fun!
