Well I measured the stroke on my filter pen and it's 3.5mm.
But it's a slower, punchier stroke than my other 3.5 rotaries.
Pretty weird. Must be the motor I guess. Doesn't heat up or sound like...

What volts are you running at? I use it at around 8-9v. I have a 3.5mm bishop and infinite irons and definitely a longer stroke than those.
I'd like to get my hands on a shorter stroke one too...

Yeah I got one and it's pretty sweet. Hits solid, runs smooth. I'd guesstimate a 4.2mm stroke.
As for maintenance, They glue/thread lock the shit outta the thing, so a real bitch to disassemble....
