I also use my cranker right around 6 -6.4v w/about a 3.8 stoke length. Crankers don't have a lot of presence off of the tip so you definitely need to apply enough pressure to take up the "slop" and...

I only used it to line three small tattoos but this feels like a whole new machine, much smoother. W/ a 1" SS grip there was no longer any vibration to speak of even at 10v! This is a light weight...
If a lighter application of lube doesn't work and you can't sort it out over the phone send it in! I've had a couple different similar problems w/ mine and they're good about taking care of it.
