been at this one forever. was extremely challenging to do this type of painting in oils but i love how it came out. took about 25 hours.

That's spectacular! But you must be a madman! It should have taken 1/3 of the time in 3 or 4 different mediums! You're nuts Dave!!!!

haha thanks. this one was an experiment . doing linework with a brush with oilpaints is a bitch. this is a decent sized painting its a big canvas....I lined it out then painted the whole thing but a lot of the linework got covered so I had to redo it all over again at the end. its still not as clean as id like it but I cant merit spending anymore time on this painting its time to move to the next I did try putting the lines in at the end with my fancy art inkpens but the ink pooled and wouldn't dry...makes since I guess since it was sitting ontop of oil paint .

theres something about high quality oil paints man.....the paints are so rich it looks alive its hard to explain...u cant capture it with a camera it has to be seen in person.(gotta keep them at a gloss though if they dry muted it loses that aliveness , I oil out my paintings when finished ). i find other mediums can look lifeless and dull. nothing compares its my favorite medium it just takes FOREVER lol.

I have used lumocolor pens over oil after they are fully dry. I know it is recommended but it works.

That looks incredible by the way.
