Hey I was wondering...on those Chinese direct drives, how hard would it be to change out the motor? Your the only person I have seen with one, so I thought I would ask if it looked like if it was possible.

I was given 2 of them, a gold one and the silver one (pictured)..I tore the gold one apart. Its very easy to remove the motor but the motor fits in the cannister like a glove. you would have to find a motor with the same dimensions..there's a guy on facebook who puts swiss motors in the jack hammer, I believe his name is dirty designs merch

I have a gold and a silver one too. I wondering aobut putting new motors in them. I need a new front bearing for one of them also. I've seen similar ones on other machines, so it must be available as a part somewhere.

I think when I saw you in January, Thom, all you had was the Rapier - or did you have more rotaries then and I just didn't see them?

@alieK...these have all been added since I saw you (except the chinese machines). I never really used the chinese ones until I switched to T-tech..Did you ask dan kubin about the bearing?, he may be able to help you...
@slicksteel...I love(d) my kylin, it was my primary shader until I switched to rotary's. some guys say you have to tweek them a bit when you first get them, but mine ran really nice right out of the box...I've had it for almost 2 years now..

Thanks for the info. The swiss in the jackhammer sounds really interesting. Now I just have to spend a while deciding where to get a motor from, there seems to be many options.

Dirty designs posted on ink trails with the exact manufacture and model motor he uses. Apparently he had to order them with a custom sized output shaft. I will try and post the schematic he posted if I can find it.
