First attempt at a color portrait (day of the dead style)

Done with my MC-13, TB Old Timer, and the Gentleman's Rotary I. I used 17mag curved bigpin, regular 7mag, and traditional 5RL from Tatsoul. Also used Fusion, Eternal and Solid Ink inks. Took about 4 hours and was a blast to do.

I agree, I think it will age better with a background for contrast. Regardless looks like good clean work to me.

It lacks contrast, and u have to tighten it up alot more!. Its not saturates enough and really need a background. Take it from a man doing color realism All the time.

Not bad for being a first attempt. Way better than my first one for sure.
Like everyone said, this piece lacks of contrast. Especially on the shadows that define the face features.
Maybe a background or a directional light source on the face.

This piece can totally be enhanced once healed.

Thanks guys for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind for the next one. The reference used had very soft lighting and the model had incredibly smooth features, but looking at it I see that slightly harder lighting would have allowed better contrast.

It's actually really good. I like the consistency. It lives up to the name.
