Hand cut brass DD with clipcord connection

Not a review, just felt like sharing a recent build I mine. I have been building a few DD machines lately and have mostly been doing clipcord connectors as well. I have gone through 4 or 5 RCA cables in the past few years yet have had the same clipcord for 9 years. I am starting to switch back. I have built this all by hand, with the exception of drilling holes. Where needed parts get silver soldered or wired with silver bearing solder. I used a solid brass wire ( insulated with clear heat shrink ) rather than a conventional wire for better durability. The spindle was custom made for me. The motor is Mabuchi an this thing is punchy at 4 volts. I intend to start putting it through the paces tomorrow.

For a better view. Tapatalk seems to limit the image sizes pretty awful these days.

So far so good. 3.8 volts seems to be the sweet spot. 11 mag and some color blending today. Everything went smooth.

Added some flower pedals coming off a rose for a client. Lined with an H&M DD they make quite a pair.

What stroke & volts are you lining with using the HM DD?

So I lined with this one ( the machine I built ) today. It lined great. Although a bit to aggressive for me with the long stroke. When I am lining with the H&M DD I have the stroke set back a bit and this seems to even out the lining for me. Regardless I am airily pleased with the machine that I have built.
