I use curved mags with my neotats as well. When my needles are in the uppermost position, if I have the longest part of the curved mags barely poking over the edge (when I was first starting to figure the neotats out) I would get snags also. I pulled them back as well, and no problems. You don't need the needles hanging out on those machines. They are so efficient - use a feather touch and black&grey with them = awesome.
