It resembles a top-hat grommet . The Cranker armature is basically a tube with a rod in it , stop the rod's flexion within the tube and you have no give, on the old ones they were threaded ,so you tightened yhe plastic nut and the flexion was stopped, the little plastic top hat is much more simple and reliable.

Has anyone tried the MC15? Is that better than the sidecrankers?

I've got a side cranker on order and it should be arriving on Wednesday, on Dan's site he says it's good for small to medium size lines, but can also be used for bigger lines too, has anybody had any experience of using one with 9rl upwards ?

Personally wasn't a fan of this machine. I gave it two months of trial and error and it seemed difficult to color with. I had successful results doing smooth black and grey with it, but I just snagged his mc15 and it's the best color packer I've ever used. Really enjoy it.

What are you setting the stroke at and what voltage are you running the MC15 at?
    Thanks
