Another vote for the Compact. It has just about the easiest on the fly adjustments (both stroke and give).. Works with regular needle setups too. Smooth, very powerful and can run really slowed down without losing punch.

Same here. Compact. It takes 2 seconds to change stroke/give. Since I use an alu click grip from NATS, it's my perfect machine.
I have been using the edge x quite a bit for everything. With the exception of outline only or lettering only because I don't wanna use a cartridge setup for one needle.

Until it broke down recently, I was using my thunder for absolutely everything for the past six months.
I have used either the edge x and the halo 2 for everything for almost 2 years now, well the halo 2 since i got mine in february.
I use them both, depending on how often ski keeps those disposable RPGs in stock, I use those with the edge and the halo 2 for using my tech stainless grips.
My flite v2.. i can use that for everything not that you can sort things on the fly. But thats why i have 2.
