Rather than doing a new review for rotarytattoo on the Evolution, I just cobbled together the original review I done ..

German Evolution.. Part 1..

Flaws are minor, I aint too sure about the Plastic securing nut, especially, if you cut the loop of the bar, however, I assume if it fails then the needle will not be able to run, as it would slide through the opening in the grub screw, so can't damage the skin. Motion is defo straight up and down, no wobble at all, even a 5v's, very very light, 100 gramms or about. I cut the loop off, and in order to ensure I had the needle in the correct position in the tip, I used a pair of tweezers to adjust it, takes not much longer to load than a standard coil...do I think it is as durable as a coil machine, probably not, do I think it is the best rotary machine I have tried to date, by a country mile FUKIN Yes, do I recommend it yes, marks so far for Lining, used a 5rl, and a 7rl tex..9/10, its not a 10 because of having to cut the loop of, if you don't cut the loop off I found the machine sits too high in the hand, oh and cutting off the loop, surprisingly aided stability......Any questions fire away.....I will add its Shading and Packing ability on Friday...That to me, IMO, is the real test,,,Peace,P.

Part 2..Right last part of the review, Shading and Packing...Had a small design to do, Client didn't give permission to post, so no pics...Shades and Packs anywhere from 3.0 to 5.0 v's , using a mag 7 curved, and a 14r's, I asked the client to tell me when it got sore, little pain or trauma throughout the volts..To shade/pack I ran it from 3.5 to 4.5 at approx a 35degree angle,color penetrated the skin a lot easier at this angle.... hit can "only" be adjusted by adjusting the v's, hand speed or riding the needle helped both with shading and packing. IMO, I don't think I will use this as a soft hitting shader for B & G work...Is it an all round machine, HMMMMMMM, I would say it is a Liner I would use for Shading and Packing as opposed to the other way around....Defo not for everyone, is very light, perfect for small detail and possibly portrait work,,,Marks outta 10 overall for performance...... Liner..9, Shader..7, Packer 7...it is the lack of give, which lets it down in the colour department, wouldn't like to do a fuk off tribal, but would happily do a medium flash Rose and Banner...From start to finish...so that aint bad.. Anybody need any more specifics ask away...P.


Summary 04/01/2012...The review above was done a while back, I would like to add, and this is very important, as my skills and patience increased with Rotaries, I found the Evolution, to be more of a Colour Machine, it can Blend, Shade and Pack providing you know what you are doing, this is a Direct Drive therefore has "no give", however, results are immediate, and colour work is "almost" one pass.....P,

Already did Bro, and was most impressed..I believe, that most tattoo machines, be it coils or rotary can be improved or adjusted by the user...That is why it must be so frustrating for builders, some people may look on a slight fault as an issue, I prefer to look at as an opportunity of possibly improving the original design..Just like you did..

Anyone know what the German evolution is like compared to a Nedz? I know Nedz has more options, and probably a better liner, but the German evolution is liked allot by those that have one.

What volts did u run it at for a liner and what do u rate it on a noise level compared to others.

IMO and in the simplest of terms, the Evolution is a Direct drive, it has no give you control the force of hit via the volts or by your Hand technique/strength, I would not suggest this would be the first rotary to start on..The Nedz is more forgiving, and would suit beginner to advanced...

I don't really remember the V's, but it would probs be below 6, depending on which needle grouping would determine the V's...1 Being total Silence and 10 Being a coil machine, I would rate it about 3..It is one of the quietest Rotaries I have came across...

With the nedz I find I can blend colors right in the skin very easily,it is very forgiving,heals smooth with very little trauma. Rapier2 is also a great rotary for the price as is also very easy to tattoo with.

I would suggest you turn the voltage down a tad. For lining I run the machine at about 4volts, colour packing 3volts and b&g at 3.5 ish. I have some in stock if anyone is interested pm me.
