People that bought the knock off told that the adjustment knob can be turned just a quarter.

by some of the pictures the knob for the vise and adjustment have different textures. And I remember something about the screws holding the motor

I wonder if the original parts fit? The vice nut and the rca would make it harder to spot a fake specially if you never had an original one in your hands...

The motor cover plate behind the cam on the dragonfly is black and has holes in it, most of the fakes have the silver motor showing.

I haven't ever held a fake, but the real one is pretty light. I wonder if there is a weight difference?

There are so many distinctive differences between them................

    Cons.
    1. Some of the bodies have a cutaway in the center exposing the motor
    2. There is only clipcord connection, no rca
    3. The needle tensioner wheel is made of hard plastic and not rubber o-rings like the original
    4. The internal slide mech. is put together with copper press pins
    5. The give system is very loose and not as tight as the original and while in use it the adjustment screw turns on its own with the vibration of the machine
    6. The cap on the adjustment screw is loose and rattles while in use
    7. Comes filled with this yellow petroleum based lubricant that stinks and degrades the internal parts
    8. Definitely does not run as smooth as the original
    9. Needs serious maintainence and cleaning before use to run properly
    Pros.
    1. They weigh about the same
    2. They do get the job done
    3. Makes you feel like you are using a real dragonfly until one of your peers or friends catches ya using it :/
