Buttons - I WANT ONE! (Machine loyalty badges)

You've seen them under some member's names. It screams to the forum, "I HAVE THIS MACHINE!".

You may also notice that if you click on it, you are taken to a link for that machine. Cool! So, how do you do that to your profile? It's EASY!

    1) At the top of the page, look for the "Forum Actions" dropdown. Click on it and choose "General Settings".

    2) Scroll down the next page until you see "My Settings". Under that heading, look for "My Account", and choose "Permission Groups".

    3) On this page, you'll see all the groups that Rotary Tattoo Forum has created loyalty badges for! All you need to do is tick off which machines you own! Once you have chosen your machine[s]/groups (and lustfully gazed upon future purchases), simply click on "Join Group".

You are now free to blatantly boast about your growing collection! Hooray!

Yes, I realize that not every machine made is listed in the groups. The admin and I are working on it. It's very time consuming to create them in photoshop as well as link them to the correct websites where you can find them, and we are also trying to re-work the machine buttons so that they look cooler. We appreciate your patience, and look forward to the day when we have almost all of the popular machines that we all know and love!

    Thank you!

It was just labor intensive. vBulletin is not a simple piece of software... well it is when you finally figure it out but its not like you can go to school to know this program or just read some simple tutorials. Its a ton of searching online and through the vBulletin forum to see what people have done and how they did it. 90% of the vBulletin forum community is programmers so its a ton of stuff I will never begin to understand.

More upgrades to the gallery section coming later! wee!

Sometimes, I'll open up multiple windows, or 2 browsers like firefox and google chrome and split them on the screen. That way, I can refer to the instructions and easily see what I'm doing at the same time. If anyone has trouble following tutorials, try that method.

P.S. Nice job on the Brand Loyalty Badges, Phil.

    All in a days work!

I must admit, I get a great deal of help with the behind the curtain stuff on the site from the publisher of FishingFury.com. Jon has been not only kind enough to donate server space for the site to make it be here but made sure the maintenance and software upgrade done this weekend went swimmingly!

If you like fishing, visit his site. If you don't like fishing then go there anyway or draw him a fish and email it in as a submission. .
