    Customs Charges

Hi all, I've been waiting for my Spektra to turn up for a while know, turns out it was held up at customs, the machine is now at my local parcel force depot but is being held due to payment of charges, anyone else experienced this and ay idea how much they charge.
    Thanks
    Rich

£28-£32 if the Sender has placed a value of 100bucks, if the value is 500bucks, you will pay £90......It doesn't matter if it has been sent as a gift, that goes for nothing, it is the insurance value, or value placed on the item which dictates Custom Charges/VAT...For instance I was sent a Centri, marked as a gift, but insured for 550 bucks, cost £93in custom charges, I then sent it to Mike to get fixed, and he sent it back as a gift valued at 100bucks, that cost a further £28 in charges.....Anything coming from outside the EU, is best sent as a Gift, 50bucks value, and sent via track and trace....Only saying,P.

Thanks for the Skinmech, spoke to someone at FK and they said they placed the value under $100 so hopefully not looking at too much on the charges, thanks again

So if say you put the price at 600, customs will charge you a bunch to get it.

Obviously it would depend on the currency, but if the price is put as 600 euros, £600 or $600 is gonna cost you both Custom administration charges, and if applicable VAT....

Wow talk about outrageous. There's no reason for them to charge extra fees. I remember sending a machine to a friend of mine in Germany in 96 and it only cost me 15 dollars to send and nothing for him to get it. To beat all he got in 3 days

Nothing much has changed, I can still send a Machine Stateside (from the UK), insure it for 550 Bucks, and it costs 20 bucks to send, and the buyer has no Custom Charges....I have done a lot of trades on here, and to date, I can't recall the buyer/swapper having any charges...However, on this side of the Pond, I have paid over £370 in Custom charges so far this year...It's not what you send, it is how you send it...P.
