Hi guys...for some reason i cant find much info on the taptat daddio site????...maybe you guys can help...

What stroke do the original neotats have that are marked as the letter P on the back?
What strokes are available in the original neotat?
Can the vivace stroke be changed by ordering a different cam without the motor ???

Thought id ask...im really impressed by my vivace and original and want to know more....

    Cheers

I have never asked specifically what they stood for but it makes sense.

    Original
    C 1.8
    S 2.5
    P 3.5

    Vivace
    . 1.8 (special order)
    .. 2.5
    ... 3.5
    .... 4.2

You can probably change just the crank wheel but its much easier to change out the motor. Depends on how often you want to change it really. Shoot an email over to [email protected] and Karen or Ray will be able to give you the best answer in regards to changing out the crank vs a motor.

The back plates on the the new machines are all now marked with the dot system.

the frames are a little dif so it depends on what stroke you are trying to move to ..only reason i know that is because my apprentice has a 1.8 and wanted to move to a 3.5 ..........i asked ray at the Detroit expo and he said it all depends on the frame markings if you can or cant ....

i also have one with x on it which is a 2.5. it seems like that might be one of the older markings on the neotat 2.5-which means extra from the 1.8 which was the first and only one out for awhile-we should get ray on here to give the full low down on the different markings over the years and on the overall changes such as if a 4.2 cam would fit any of the neotats.

I have talked to Ray ( super friendly and very helpful I might add ) he told me that the older frames can not take a bigger stroke. He said that if there are ( if memory serves me correctly ) two small holes in the metal behind the slide then the opening for the bearing is big enough for larger strokes. If it doesn't have the two dots/dents/holes then it can not.
