Neotats, Vivaces with the 2.5 and soft return spring work great for bng and hit pretty soft n smooth.
Also the German Evolution that just got updated hit soft for a DD linear.
Generally the shorter the cam stroke the less punch it will have. Also a machine that has a bit more speed and less torque helps if your trying to do powdery smooth bng realism work.

forget all about that soft dd.. if you're not into the Torch, then use as said a smaller stroke DD with a silicone tubing as grommet (pref. ID: 2mm-2.5mm OD: 4.5mm-5.0mm, depends on the softness/hardness you want and hardness of each individual type of silicone) just to get that little damping effect on it..
Get that, and just get used to it
Sooner or later you're gonna get the hang of it, and you will find "your" style of using it in your work..

Direct drives are awesome, and some peeps here use them almost exclusively. it's a simple kind of machine.. leaves the rest up to the tattooer.

Have a nice weekend my fellow members!

Is there a specific diameter of tubing that works for the nipple best?
