what was Eds recommendations

Honestly can't remember what exactly. Just used the lube that came with it and made sure to use more lube on the slider. I like my machines runnign slow and found it best for packing and lining. Wish there was a 12v motor

I wish that as well. I asked Ed what 12V would fit, he answered, but I accidently earazed that message when I did some spring cleaning in my inbox..
Remember it was a Faulhaber for like $75 if Im not mistaken. But the model and size I cant remember..
