    More blacks. While a cool image it is very flat.

    Yeah all I had on me was a mechanical pencil. I'm going to print it out and use my pens to add some crisp. Thanks for the input!

    Very nice detail here. As evlink said, you need to enhance the different focal ranges with more values.

    If this is really a study, I'd set it up on an easel, pull up a really nicely shaded sphere reference and hit the thing with an airbrush with diluted black.



    It's always amazing to me that even when I think I have my values correct, when I try this method, there's always room for more black.

    If you don't have an airbrush, get one! With a little practice, it'll become indispensable.

    I actually do have one but this was a really small pencil drawing (8.5x11) so i guess Ill wait until start my canvas. I also took my compressor to a music festival in a desert last year which..wasn't the greatest idea lol. I need to open it up and clean the sand out. That's a great sphere reference! Really breaks it down.
