Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum before I go around asking loadsa crazy questions. Been tattooing for just over a year and work out of studio called Dermal Puncture Emporium in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. Started off using some coils from a local builder but soon found my way to rotaries and not looked back.
Being new/semi apprentice I do a lot of the general shop work but trying to specialise mostly in B&G portraits and realism. I use my SwashdriveWhip for mags and Vivace 2.5 with a 3rl for details. Also own a Ego for lining with larger rounds and a Vivace 4.2 for packing.
Although after reading some threads on here I'm going to try the short stroke Neo with my mags and will try the long stroke for lining. I like the ego but I got an early one and its way noisier than some of those sent out later. There's about 6 egos between us in the shop and mine is way louder than some of the others even after soaking it with lube.
Joined the site to get advice and maybe machine swap. Been reading a lot of good things about the mini cranker and rotary works machines but not sure if they would be any better than the machines I already own ... anyone got an opinion on that?
Attached some images (hopefully) of my work for you guys to critique. The indian is about 9 months healed and the old man with the beard about 2 weeks healed. Last three are all done in the past couple of months and I use 00/10 needles as I find I get the speed of normal needles with the smooth blends of bugpins. Be cruel I'm my own worst critic anyway.
Oh and thanks to admin for accepting me
