The reference was black & grey. I figured this was a great excuse to put some purple as a lightsource. Intense's MIDNIGHT from Mike Demasi's portrait set is a nice dirty purple that helps with the realism aspect. I also used BAMBO from intense instead of regular skintones. This worked well.
